Walmart Helps Veterans and Military Families Achieve the dream of small business Ownership with Vetsource in Hampton Roads
.We love companies that support veterans, military and best of all the military spouses in Hampton Roads! With a big business like Wal-Mart taking the lead with the Coalition for Veteran Owned Business (CVOB), they are bringing an event that no one has seen before to Norfolk, called VetSource. This event is made to support the success of veterans, military and military spouse owned business and use this platform to connect them to several types of Fortune 500 companies.
With the help of Wal-Mart, they are working to ensure the success of veteran, and military family-owned businesses by connecting them to larger companies that can help them to achieve the “American Dream”. Before the inception of the VetSource event, Walmart has had a long history of supporting members of the military. With this show of support for veterans and their families, Wal-Mart has initiated programs such as the Veterans Welcome Home Commitment. They have hired more than 179,000 veterans since this program launched in 2013. Many of that veteran hire, over 24,000 have been promoted to jobs of greater responsibility. Wal-Mart has been seen as one of the major supporters in our nation when it comes to helping veterans and their families adjust to returning to civilian life.
