Meet Rebecca Martin! She's an Independent Consultant for Rodan+Fields and is the perfect example of living proof of her product!
Question: Do you have a website?
Yes, https://becmartin.myrandf.com (to shop)
https://www.becmartin.myrandf.biz (to learn about business)
Q: What is your product/service? Who is your target audience?
A: Premium Skincare - anybody looking to boost their confidence by obtaining the best skin of their life. I’m also building a team of smart, savvy and fun female entrepreneurs who are looking to change their lives and the lives of others.
Q: What sets your product/service apart from your competitors?
A: Rodan + Fields is the #1 selling skincare brand in the US (for past three years) and is founded by world-renowned dermatologists. Clinically tested, our products are guaranteed to deliver results, or your money back.
Q: How long have you been in business? Where are you located?
A: 1 ½ years in business and I live in Sneads Ferry with my husband (retired from the USMC), two children and 2 dogs.
Q: Is there anything you would like potential customers and readers of our blog to know about you and your business?
A: I am extremely passionate about helping others - either with their skincare concerns or with getting them started towards building their own business with R+F. I believe this is a tremendous opportunity for young women (especially military spouses as they are able to work and grow this business from anywhere the military may take them!) who are looking for something beyond the traditional 9-5 job. The flexibility is perfect for busy women who are looking for a part-time job to earn extra income or those like myself who are doing this full-time. The friendships I’ve formed since joining this company are my very favorite part of what I do!
Q: Tell us about your business and how you became the successful business woman you are today.
A: I attribute a lot of my success to the varied jobs I held throughout my husband’s military career. Military spouses who choose to work are faced with a unique set of challenges since they typically move so frequently that it becomes next to impossible to build any sort of career with upward mobility. My resume is a hodgepodge of jobs, none of them related, with a large gap of time when my children were young and I stayed at home with them. The really cool thing is that when I reflect back on that resume and each job I held over the years, I acquired different skills at each and every one of them that I am now able to utilize as I’m in business for myself. I didn’t always love the jobs, but each has proven invaluable when I look at the big picture.
Q: Describe yourself in three words.
A: happy, optimistic, joyful
Q: What are your top three favorite people/places/things to do in Jacksonville?
A: 1. I love going to the movies with friends and family and enjoy both theaters equally. 2. Tony’s Pizza at the Jacksonville Mall has ALWAYS been a favorite! I love picking it up and bringing home for dinner when I’m running errands in Jacksonville. 3. Any time I get my hair done at Koi Salon, it’s a good day!
Q: What do you consider your greatest professional achievement?
A: Since I’ve never been happier than I am now that I am building my own business, I’m going to have to say that finding the courage to walk away from my corporate job in pursuit of something that feeds my soul is what I consider my greatest accomplishment so far. Understandably, many aren’t in a position financially to walk away from their 9-5 job, so I’d like to encourage them to start working on that thing…..be it a side hustle, a hobby, a charity, whatever it might be that feeds their soul and makes them happy. Who knows, it might eventually turn into something that they are able to pursue full-time in the future.
Q: What are your professional goals for the next six month?.
A: I want to increase the size of my team by at least 12 new teammates and mentor them to get a fast start in their businesses. It’s so much easier to stay motivated when you achieve some initial success. I’m experienced, passionate, and can’t wait to help others who are ready to rock their own businesses.
Q: What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?
A: Can I be a backup singer for Kenny Chesney, pretty please??
Q: Do you have any advice for women who'd like to start their own company?
A: Find a mentor, schedule time with them, learn from them, don’t feel you have to recreate the wheel. If you find somebody successful at what you are attempting to do, learn as much from them as you possibly can. Don’t be discouraged when you hear the word, “no”. Read books, listen to podcasts, invest in developing yourself.
Happy, optimistic, and joyful are spot on for a description of Rebecca! She is such a go-getter and I am so glad she's joined us as a regular vendor. Thank you Rebecca for your time!
Until next time!
