Have you ever hung back, waiting to see what would happen next in life, only to be underwhelmed by the result?
Your thoughts and your results are like that awkward holding the door for someone moment and both being like “oh you go” “No It’s okay thank you, go ahead” and no one moves for WAY too long.
Your thoughts are waiting on your life, and your life is hanging back, waiting to get directions for results. The reason those results are not taking place is because you’re stopping yourself at the first step: In your mind. See, you can’t experience something until you’ve actually CONCEIVED it in your mind. The INCEPTION of all that you dream of, is IN YOUR MIND.
💥 The ONLY things holding you back from whatever you are meant to achieve, are your THOUGHTS. Not your financial situation, not your status, not your color, not your past, not your relationships.
Have you ever thought:
“Ugh, I always do this…..”
“I never learn….”
“I can’t even imagine myself doing that….”
“I would not be able to handle….”
“That’s UNREALISTIC” / “I need to be realistic”
Whatever you’re wishing for has not happened yet because you’re probably breaking down your own success with your internal mental sabotage.
Let me share a little of my experience with you. A few years back, I finally BEGAN taking responsibility for some of the things I had created in my life;
👉🏽Stress that zapped my sleep and sucked up my energy
👉🏽Anxiety that stripped away much of my joy as a young mom
👉🏽A job that could have been great but I was stuck in self-doubt, self-pity, lack of self-care and analysis paralysis
👉🏽My marriage that I thought I had outgrown when it was actually my old SELF I had outgrown
Let me tell you, none of those things improved before my self-confidence began to improve.
When you begin to CHOOSE differently; to THINK otherwise, you then:
🗣Believe in yourself and your potential
👤Show up differently
🗣Walk confidently &
It saddens me when I hear people think their situations are a LIFE SENTENCE. The only jail is the one you’ve created mentally.
When you allow your imagination to create your power, to embrace all that potential that you were born with and finally begin cultivating it… You’ll surprise yourself and those around you.
I challenge you to write down your AUDACIOUS goal. One that you know most will tighten their lips when they hear, because it is so far from the current reality. When you allow yourself to write it down and visualize it, you can then begin to list out what it would require of you to achieve that.
➾ Who do you need to be?
➾ How do you need to show up?
➾ How do you feel about yourself in your dream/vision?
Don’t wait for the circumstance to show up and to make you “feel” more confident. Confidence is literally a SKILL that is exercised by doing, doing, “failing”, doing again, doing better and seeing yourself grow and conquer. Ever feel like your closet is filled with nothing to wear. You wake up in the morning ready to conquer the day. Start your usual morning routine like brushing your teeth, having breakfast and putting on makeup. Now it’s time to get dressed but you can’t seem to put an outfit together or nothing is fitting right or matching. The word image consultants use for this is called a style rut and it happens to almost everyone. The good news is you’re not alone.
Below are 7 steps I have developed to get you out of your style rut.

Shopping is a lot of fun but can be very daunting if you don’t know what you are
looking for. This is especially true if you are a business women or have a career that
requires you to dress the part. With so many designers and garments to choose from
it can be overwhelming when you are unsure where and what to purchase.
I am going to share with you what I look for when shopping for myself and clients.
This blog will focus on fit, style, quality and trends at affordable prices. Below you
will find a Youtube video that will provide a visual guide but don’t stop reading as
this article will uncover tips that are not in the video.
Know your Budget. Decide what budget you are comfortable with. In this video I
chose affordable, focusing on garments from Zara and H&M. However, these tips can
be applied with any designer and price price point.
Go in Prepared and know what you need. To prep you simply need to go through
your closet or as I like to say “shop your closet”. This gives you a clear
understanding of what you already have. You can also keep a book in your closet
and write down what you need as things come up for example: basic camis or a solid
blouse for a printed skirt and so on. In order to shop smart it is important to have a
clear understanding of what you actually need.
Search current Trends on the internet and see what can blend with what you
have. This does not mean I am encouraging you to shop and look like everyone else.
But knowing trends will guide you to be more stylish, allowing you to look for
certain silhouette, colors and textures. This may also help you decide what pieces to
retire in your wardrobe to make more room for the new garments.
Know your fit and what works for your body. You know what I love about people,
that we are all so different. Especially as women we are all shaped differently and
have different lifestyles and careers. Be prepared and know what works or doesn’t
work for you. For example: a vneck vs crew neck, pencil vs A-line, skinny leg vs wide
leg bright colors vs deep colors and so on.
Now for the fun part…
When walking into a store gravitate towards the first thing that catches your eye.
If something caught your attention that means it is a good place to start exploring
and move on from there. You don’t have to shop all the racks, remember you’re
prepared and know what you’re shopping for.
Quality is important at any price point so when shopping touch the fabrics, if it
feels funny to the hand don’t bother picking it up. I also love natural fibers like
cotton or silk or leather and precious metals because they are breathable. However,
there are plenty of blends or polyesters that I will still pick up, again the key is the
hand / how it feels. In addition, if something is shiny or cheap looking don’t bother
with it as it will not portray luxury. Dissect the garment by looking at the stitching
detail, the care instructions, button alignment; these are the details that distinguish
Try it on! Please don’t skip this step, I encourage you to try it on. Another tip is pick
up items that will go with the garments you are trying on before walking in to
fitting room. For example: if I am buying pants and I am not sure about where they
hit my waist line I will pick up a top to try it with or if I need to figure out the length
I will ask the sales associate for an appropriate heel height shoe.
Go with your instinct. Don’t listen to anyone if it doesn’t feel right in the store or
when you try it on that means there is a high probability it will not work at home.
Be daring! This I do with all my clients and make them do even when I am not
around. Pick one item that you fall in love with or admire but you won’t try on
because you’re assuming it won’t work. And try it on! Guess what you might have
just discovered a new favorite thing to wear.
Before paying. This is a habit that takes time to break. Look at what you are
planning to buy and ask yourself, do I already own this? If the answer is yes and the
one at home is in good condition, well you know what to do… Wear what you have
and find something else to buy.
First thing to do when you get home after shopping is try it on with what you have
and see if it blends with your wardrobe. If you have nothing to wear with what you
purchased, then I suggest you return it or call me .
Wear it! Don’t let it just hang in your closet, you bought it for a reason (and I hope
not just for the price tag). The longer something hangs the more chances it will get
eaten up by everything else that’s hanging. Meaning the longer it hangs the higher
probability you will not wear it.

Most of the time we go to networking events and we are by ourselves.
Here are some questions to get you connecting with other professional women.
1. How did you get started in your profession?
2.How did you hear about this event?
3. What kind of networking events do you normally attend?
4.What kind of business groups do you belong to?
5. What are your favorite business app, book, and planner?
6. How can we stay connected?
7. How can I help you in your business?
Everyone wants to grow their business and the best way to to do this is by making the right connections to collaborate with the right women.
Building an email list is hard work, but we know its so important. For business owners, email lists can yield dramatic rewards. According to Direct Marketing Association, email marketing on average sees a 4300 percent return on investment (ROI) for businesses in the US.
You produce amazing content as an expert in your field and want to share it with the world, but if you simply put an email sign up form on your website, you’re missing out on some prime opportunities to grow your email list. Think about all the places you have a presence online; those are all places you’re reaching potential subscribers.
So, think beyond your website and make it beyooond easy for them to see, click and sign up!
Here’s 6 places you can put your email sign up form link.
First things first, you’ll want to get a hold of your email sign up form url. There’s two options to use here:
If you’ve ever asked yourself “where did the day go” then this is for you. There’s no question that time is a hot commodity. Generally, we’re overrun, overworked and on a hustle mindset 24/7. While I have mixed feelings about the word hustle (let’s just hustle smart, not hard), I do agree that we could all use more hours in the day.
Confession: As tech driven as my work is, I am a complete skeptic to new technology. I wait, and wait, and wait, then study the reviews and competitors, then do a test run. If it doesn’t perform magic in the first 10 seconds, it’s gone. So trust me when I say the small business apps on this list are total life savers. I promise they will boost your efficiency, focus, and productivity.
Boomerang for Gmail:This is my favorite app for creating a peaceful Monday. Over the weekend, I write follow up emails, and status updates and schedule them to be sent bright and early Monday morning. My busy email list is crossed off before I even make my first cup of coffee, and your recipients think your off to an amazingly productive week. Click here to add the Boomerang extension to your gmail >
Asana:Hello project management! I’m slightly obsessed with crossing things off a to do list, and this free cloud-based app keeps all my projects in sync and moving along with assignments, deadlines, checklists, attachments, you name it. I used Trello for a couple of years and made the switch to Asana for all my client workflows and personal to do lists. You can even save your boards so creating a new project is a snap. Click here to try Asana for free >
Freshbooks:I can’t tell you how many hours this app has saved me. Gone are the days of word and excel for invoicing and tracking payments. Set up recurring or one-off invoices and let them work behind the scenes. Get paid online, track expenses, create proposals (and signatures upon approval- score), and even track your hours. With end of the year reports, tax season looks much less intimidating. If you’re self-employed, this is such a no-brainer. Click here to try Freshbooks free for 30 days >
Evernote:Let’s face it, ideas come and go quickly, regardless of your proximity to a computer. Evernote stores everything in one place from random notes, to books. No kidding, I have a client using this to write a book one free minute at a time. Personally, I use it to jot down social media captions before yoga class. Anything that’s on my mind gets digitally scribbled down, where I can look at it later from my desktop. Click here to check out the free Evernote app >
Plann:When you’re just not that happy with how an all-in-one social media planning tool manages Instagram, this is the answer. Just add your images to shuffle them into the perfect grid, add captions, add saved hashtags and save it for a schedule notification. If you’re like me, save more time by not reading or judging yourself too much when it’s time to post. Just approve and go. Try Plann >
Tailwind:This tool has been a total game changer in my business. Within the first month, Tailwind helped Pinterest become my #1 source of traffic to my website (like 85% of my traffic). That’s some serious action. The user dashboard is complex-looking at first, but with a little effort and help from the video tutorials, you can get up and running in an afternoon. Use it to create a pinning schedule, bulk upload pins, create smartloops to keep your great content recycling, join tribes to share and submit pins, track your analytics, and more. Get a free trial to see in action and be prepared to be amazed. Click here to try Tailwind >
Dropbox:Customer experience is important. Rather than sending bulking emails with attachments that tend to get lost, I organize a dropbox folder to share files. Branding clients love this because everything is neatly organized, no questions needed. Plus, if there’s a revision to be made, you can replace the file so there’s no duplicates or confusion. It’s also great for working with team members to share large files. Click here to try Dropbox for free >
Canva:As a designer, I spend most of my time on Adobe programs, like Photoshop and InDesign, but I’ve been using Canva more and more to create easy-to-edit templates for clients. It’s a completely free cloud-based app where you can create great-looking graphics and share them online (or print out). Start with a blank slate or choose a design (free and paid options available). I’ve even started included Canva formats for templates in my own shop. No fancy designer skills needed – just open and start editing. Click here to try Canva for free >
