The new Tennessee State Museum opened at the beginning of October. The museum showcases our state's history and is open to the public. The museum is 137,000 sq ft and features a "Tennessee Time Tunnel" that takes you on a journey through the Tennessee state history.
The museum also features a hand's on children's area that is designed for ages 3-8. In this area children can explore and learn about all things Tennessee. One things that we enjoyed was the scavenger hunt that encourages children to find and learn about Tennessee including: the city at the center point of TN, where they live, and more. There is also a fossil dig, a reading area, a coloring area, and some blocks so that they can use their imagination and build.
Admission is free and you can visit Tuesday through Saturday 10am-5pm (Thursday is 10am-8pm) and on Sunday from 1-5pm.
