The New Orleans Art Center is hosting an opening reception of Africa in Africa on Saturday, April 13th, from 6-10 pm at 3330 St. Claude Ave. as part of St. Claude Arts District 2nd Saturday Art Walk ***
Africa in Africa is a collaborative exhibition conceived by New Orleans-based Colombian Artist Gustavo Duque and African Art Collector Dr. William E. Bertrand and will present a culmination of paintings and sculpture by Gustavo Duque based on his travels in Morocco, a large collection of masks from different regions of Africa, photography by Dr. Fred Husseri, and special Installation by Matilde Alberny.
A generous portion of the proceeds from the exhibit will will be donated to the National Medical Fellowship which raises funds to provide scholarships and support to underrepresented minority medical and health professional students. Attendance is Free.
