Ok, so it's date night and you are wondering where to go.
Let's talk flowers! Flowers send signals to a girl that are hard to describe. If I had to describe my feelings, it leads me to be more romantic by the smell and colors. They just do something to a girl.

It can be networking, attending a launch party, birthday party or any event. It’s about meeting new people, sharing who you are and what you do and gaining some valuable contacts you can use for the future. It is very necessary to work the room and not sit through the entire event. This strategy works for introverts and extroverts.
You get all dressed up to sit in a corner? WE GOT DRESSED FOR THIS! You put on that new MAC lip for a reason, to smile and to show your fabulous personality.
I didn’t realize I was working the room, until my husband made a comment that he will let me work the room. With my networking events, I have to get out and meet everyone, but I also attend events where I may only know a few people in the room. I have learned, the events are what you make it. If you are looking to grab food or free snacks and take business cards, that is what you will get. I have been very deficient in the business card department. I usually show women my social media, but I do plan on getting cards printed. I will admit, that sometimes too many cards from an event can be overwhelming. Try to give and get the cards that make sense for you.
If you are looking to connect with people, here are some helpful tips.
Working the room can be lots of fun. Practice at every event and you will be amazing. Just be yourself and you will shine bright like a princess cut diamond.
My birthday was last weekend and I had the most legendary time with my twin sister, best friends and family. I am a connector by nature. I love connecting people who have similar interests. This year, I explored a few of my passions and made some great friends. There is no love like best friends...that's like Louis without Vuitton. Let's face it, girls just wanna have fun. Call it 'Twin-ergy' but these girls...can PARTY! Blame it on the Deoxyribonucleic acid or DNA, putting us together calls for an AMAZING NIGHT! Whether we are near or afar, we keep a close eye on each other. Best friends are typically uncensored and hilarious. Add a Cosmo, French Martini or Blackberry Sidecar etc to the mix and the jokes get better and better.
I made the most out of my birthday weekend by celebrating with my husband, kids, TWIN SISTER, best friends, sister, parents and cousin. I, truly, could not be the spectacular person that I am without them (jokes)... . Here are a few places I visited for my birthday weekend. Needless to say, I really love certain streets more than others in the Quarters. Royal Street is my absolute favorite. I also love St. Peter street by Jackson Square. Lots of cool shops and places to eat and grab a great drink.
First things first, mani and pedi treat to me from me. I went to my favorite beauty spa, Blush beauty on 8117 Oleander Street in New Orleans. I love this minority owned spa and also being able to listen to the music and relax with Alexa and Pinot. It's also a very private spa in the Uptown area and the service is great.
Thank you Kat Kimball for the photos in the French Quarters. I can't stop looking at them. My girls also really do love them.
Here's a few photos and stories about my weekend.
Rock Rose and loa bar
We gon' start this thing off right! We had a blast starting the weekend off in Rock Rose. Service is always excellent, the drinks are always happy and the food is always amazing. I really like the flatbreads here. After that stunning dining experience, we tip toed to the hotel bar next door, LOA. It's the most wonderful time of the year! It's very pretty and colorful in this hotel with plenty of places to take great photos.
BTW: Who are those people photobombing my moment? LOL

I am not sure what we were laughing at, but I am sure it was pretty funny. Good girls gone bad in these streets.. Hey like Jay z says, 'I'm like, Che Guevara with bling on, I'm complex'
'I never claimed to have wings on'...Fun times and memories!!!
Thanks Kat Kimball for these amazing photos in the Quarters.
jewel of the south
We made the most of our night and tried the Jewel of the South. It is a hidden gem in the quarters area. They have unique drinks and a beautiful patio area. It is really nice for a date night or a GIRLS NIGHT OUT!!!!!!

What more can I say? I love this warehouse district restaurant. The music, vibe, people, food, drinks...all AMAZING and 5 stars from me. I really enjoyed the cotton candy with sparklers for our happy birthday serenade. Don't sleep on the korean bbq wings. Those suckers are yummy!!

Here we are on one of my fave streets, St. Peter. Tableau has a sexy feel to it but the upstairs area has a sports feel with comfty leather sofas. The balcony area is perfect for eating, drinking and people watching in Jackson Square. I don't want to be a 'chatta box' about it but I love the daily happy hours and look forward to going back for a holiday celebration.

I really have the most amazing sisters in the world..
I won't lie, I have not been following college football, however, I have definitely been on the foodie scene. Food is an experience. It is part of the travel package. I consider restaurants to be one of the most important facets of selecting a place to travel.
I do know that Louisiana State University has home field advantage and that makes me smile and think of all of the great places to send fans of LSU and the rival Clemson. I might not know where to tell you to throw the ball, but I can definitely tell you where to have some beignets, crawfish or New Orleans cuisine. Here's what's on the radar for the fans:
I love the Saints, but I am not a football fan. I like the name 'rundown' because I am a little over 'recap'. The year 2019 was certainly an engaging one for me. I managed to host networking events, attend many wonderful events held by different affinity groups, judge food events and build many connections and relationships along the way. I always say this; I am so thankful for all of the wonderful relationships I made and I look forward to nurturing them. I am also grateful to have touched so many women and introduced them to many long - lasting connections. I started with an Instagram following under 100 and built it to almost 7K, in less than 10 months. My Facebook followers and groups are in the hundreds, just under this period. I attribute it to the following and support that I received. I was able to work with some brands for partnerships and write some pretty awesome local and national blogs. Am I satisfied? Not yet, Am I thirsty? No. There's always more to be desired but I am completely grateful for all of the opportunities presented to me.
I didn't know much about this business, when I started, I thank some friends for taking me 'under their wings' and teaching me a few tricks..
I am most thankful for my husband for allowing me the opportunity to make the most of "my moment" and supporting it. Thank you to the women who attend my my events and continue to support. I hope I can be a light in your life and will also continue to support.
I just want to inspire little girls and women to do anything their hearts desire, if it feels right.
GO BIGGER! It's not a MOTTO, It's a LIFESTYLE..
Multiple studies have been conducted and it has been proven that women with strong female circles of friends tend to do better in the workforce. To shed more light on this, I have also concluded that having multiple circles of friends can be more beneficial to women. Having multiple viewpoints can help when you have to turn to your tribe for advice. One friend/colleague may not be well versed or as knowledgeable on one subject as another friend. It definitely helps to get that unsolicited (well needed) advice from my sisters. We gotta keep each other in check.
What's my purpose in life? It's simple, to continue to build and uplift women in the community and continue to grow in a higher power. At the end of the day, I want everything/everyone I touch to turn to gold. Like Lizzo says, "if i'm shining, everybody gonna shine". That's how I roll...
I look forward to raising awareness about many issues in the community and hopefully change lives. There is definitely more to life than money. I want to inspire others go after happiness over money. It will take you further. I have definitely evolved past the "one trick pony" routine and learned to wear several hats. I am still learning how to multi task at the most effective levels and I am getting better in my journey through storytelling. I come up with the best stories/blogs while driving my commute or laying in the bed. That's where the magic happens!!! Once the kids and the hubby are tucked away, I can focus on the empire I am building for us.
In looking back, I can only look forward. I am so excited about 2020 and I have lots of surprises in store. I am super-duper excited about my annual event in March 2020 and can't wait to share more.
I just wanted to give you a rundown/replay of the year 2019. The details are in the photos..
