My Ace and I stopped in this cute, relatively new, boutique bar. Bar Marilou is the latest HOT SPOT located in the Maison de La Luz hotel (Ace property) on Carondelet Street.. Society girls, keep this on your radar! As a blogger, people are constantly asking me the who, what, when, where and how. Hopefully I answer all your questions. Velvet rope, bottle service? Nope. Very comfy, non pretentious environment The bar has a luxury/swanky ambiance and décor with luscious, red walls and large bookcase. My initial reaction was (escape to a french library)..... but it also feels like L.A., it feels like Miami, it feels like N.Y. summertime Chi, ah!!! FACT: It was previously the library of City Hall Annex. Alexa,, take me to fabulous... This is it! I predict this bar will be a crowd favorite. It's gonna be a hot girl summer! As a New Orleans native, it's refreshing to see business development on this scale in the warehouse district. At the entrance door, I thought to myself "Did I stumble into a millionaire's large personal library"?. The perfect atmosphere for the "Creatives" and "Collectives"..I was thumbing through some books (while posing for photos) and would definitely add a few on my bucket list to read.. The menu offers about ten small plates, blends influences from the French West Indies, Paris, and New Orleans, with items like foie gras terrine, seared scallops, and salt cod fritters. Still not sure what this is about? The drink list is interesting with specialty cocktails, wines and craft beers. The menu has some of the best wines for tasting and pairing. My ace (twin sister) ranked this place at the top of her list! FoodWe ordered the Pommes Marilou (crispy potatoes, creme fraiche and caviar). We also ordered the Saint Jacques (seared scallops, charred brocolli with blackberries). Deliciousness in foodie paradise. We could not pass up dessert. It was indulgent Chocolate Pot De Creme (pecan chantilly, bourbon and cherry. drinksAs a food/everything blogger, wine connoisseur and lover of all good things NOLA. I love pretty drinks..... I tell the bartenders to make my drinks pretty if they want a pretty customer. They laugh and usually bring out the BEST DRESSED drink for me. In this case, we got amazing orders and Django, Jardin De Meme, Ti' Punch and Chartreuse flavored marshmallows (which were brand spanking new on the menu).. I give the drink selection a 5 star rating. I will be on cloud 9 for a while over this place. au revoirHere are a few memories from the night.
