Some ladies and I recently met for a Friendsgiving dinner. Where did we meet up? Bourbon Street at Galatoire’s 33 Steak & Chop. Bourbon Street is a known tourist attraction in New Orleans that has a reputation for never ending partying.. Most locals rarely go to Bourbon, but when we do it is usually quite a treat. It's actually lots of fun to head down there during the week. This night was dedicated to a Girls Night Out/Friendsgiving that was quite the night to remember. The table setting was perfect for the fall season and the women were an amazing group of lifestyle bloggers, food bloggers and travel bloggers.
During our Friendsgiving we shared our narratives and gave advice on working in the blogging space. We discovered some differences and many similarities, among the group. It was empowering to sit at a table with like-minded women with similar goals. We definitely shared our love for food. The camera eats first and the term drop it like it’s hot was definitely intended for some good hot Galatoire’s bread and butter.
Our discussions ranged from everything about food trends i.e. chicken sandwiches, upcoming festivals and events, astrology, family, our 2020 vision boards, social media updates and the new Kanye. We went around the table to share what we were most thankful for. All the ladies shared a common belief that we were so thankful to have this platform meet that allowed us to meet one another. We definitely agreed that we need to do more dinners like this.
The service at Galatoire’s was excellent. The atmosphere was busy but they were all so attentive to our needs. We ate at the Galatoire’s 33 Steak and Bar. There is also another Galatoire’s next door that is more formal. The lighting and chandeliers, in the restaurant, are enchanting and the décor is simply beautiful.
After our Friendsgiving, I became more inspired to write about some of the ultimate Girls Night Out spots. Galatoire’s is definitely #1 stop for dinner (first). I have so much to share with y'all..If your crew wants to start downtown, uptown and maybe end in the Treme’, this is a good first stop. Head to Bourbon Street to catch some city lights first.
The Galatoire’s Rose' Cocktail was definitely a favorite. The recipe is Galatoire’s Sparkling Rosé, Aperol, Passion Fruit Syrup and Lemon Juice. The drink is so good and perfect for the season. I highly recommend it.
We all agreed that variety was the spice of life and decided to mix up the appetizers and sides topped with Au Poivre, Béarnaise Marchand de Vin Hollandaise and Horseradish Créme Bordelaise sauce.
We enjoyed a spread of APPETIZERS consisting of Louisiana Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes, (Insider Tip: these are REALLY good). I am obsessed with the Crystal Remoulade and Preserved Lemon sauce. We also indulged in the Baked Oysters, we ordered a mix of Casino and Rockefeller. My favorite is the Rockefeller. We also ordered some Steak Tartare and French Onion Soup. A few of the ladies ordered salads. All of the salads are good here but the Ice Berg wedge is particularly good.
Let’s get into the entrée’s! Steak & Chops, Poultry, Fresh Seafood anyone?
A few of us ordered the Gulf Fish. This was my favorite. The crabmeat meuniere is AMAZING here.
We also plate shared with the sides. Some of our choices were the Brown Butter Mushrooms, Brussels Sprouts (which I am currently obsessed with), Green Beans, Collard Greens, Potatoes and Lobster au gratin. I am particularly fond of the Lobster, Brussels and Mushrooms.
I highly recommend Galatoires for a fun girls night out, date night or dinner with the family. Cheers to making AMAZING memories with AMAZING friends and families and RESTAURANTS like Galatoire's 33 Bar & Steak.
