I met Holly at a Girls Night Out and we kept in touch. I love her creative touches on the spaces in New Orleans. More about Holly below:
Holly was born in Warwick, Rhode Island and pretty much grew up in Michigan. She graduated from Detroit's Wayne State University with a BS in Marketing, and moved to Cambridge, MA in 2011. In 2016, she decided to make New Orleans home on a whim, after a game-changing conversation with her father during their annual Galveston Historic Homes Tour weekend. She had been to New Orleans with a friend for a week back in 2013 and fell in love with the city, but had no idea at the time she would soon be back soon, for good.
Holly moved to New Orleans to immerse herself in the culture, and because she loved the spirit of the city and the architecture - but she wasn't exactly sure what she wanted to do work-wise. She had most recently been a real estate agent in Cambridge, but didn't want to jump back in to the game just yet. She got involved with vacation rental management, and from there, vacation rental design. Holly quickly realized her passion for design, and had finally found herself where she needed to be, after many detours, winding roads, and dead-ends.
Holly says at Chez Holliday, our goal is to offer top-notch service to our clients, and to make them "look like a million bucks, without spending it." Every design is one-of-a-kind, and suited to each individual property. We know no bounds when sourcing furniture and decor, from hunting for items online to local antique/thrift/consignment shopping. We also enjoy re-purposing found-items, and working with the owner's unique and treasured pieces.
Holly feels there is nothing more gratifying than finding distinctive furniture and decor for her projects. She thoroughly enjoys the hunt, and capturing the "prey," and compares herself to a lion when she is out shopping. The goal is to deliver eclectic, inspired designs, as unique as the space, that will please owners, guests, and and/or customers alike. We want our clients to love, and be excited about, the finished product. Creating memorable, exceptional designs is our mission, and we choose to accept it.
