With school starting up, many parents are scrambling to find after school care and activities for their little ones. It can be so hard to find just the right program for your kids. You want them to be challenged, safe, and of course you’ve got to trust the program. That’s why we are so excited to share Enshin Karate’s amazing after school program with you!
After-school programs are important for children. According to a Harvard Family Research Project, children and youth who participate in after-school programs experience benefits in not only their academic and social lives, but also in their physical and emotional health.
According to a 2004 study in The Sport Journal, published by the United States Sports Academy, martial arts can help kids improve their physical fitness, including coordination, flexibility, and strength, but the practice can also help reinforce some of life’s valuable lessons, such as perseverance and self-control.
Why you're going to love it:
Enshin Karate has been running their after-school program for over 10 years and have countless success stories from it. They're confident that your children will enjoy it and they offer a monthly membership to earn your trust and ensure that you have made the right decision for your child.

Four years after getting out of dental school and working for a few dentists, Dr. Hoda Kazemifar realized that she could make the largest difference for her patients by running her practice the way she had always envisioned it.
"I watched my father as a dentist who exhibited a genuine care and consideration given to each patient as an individual and this made me want to continue my practice in this similar fashion. I wanted to be in control of the care and attention given to my patients without the boundaries of another business owner. "
"As a woman there have been times where people look at me in surprise when I mention running my own dental practice. This reaction is quite shocking to me, more than anything else I’ve achieved up to this point in my life. Raising my two rambunctious, beautiful daughters has been more hard work than anything else I can say I’ve achieved up to this point. They are definitely the highlights of my life and I work every day full time to show them that having gratification as a mom and business owner is quite possible. "
Describe yourself in three words:
Compassionate, Ambitious, Generous
What do you consider your greatest professional achievement?
My greatest professional achievement has been the start up and growth of my dental practice. With every passing day, I feel like I can truly help more and more individuals with their oral health which directly is contributing to their overall health and that in itself gives me daily gratification.
What are your professional goals for the next six months?
My professional goals for the next six months include providing even greater dental care to more people within the Reston and neighboring communities.
What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?
To be honest, I haven’t viewed myself in any other profession up to this point. My role in healthcare in business fulfills many areas of professional gratification for me.
How do you maintain a work/life balance?
When my business started growing, I had to sit back and make sure I made time for personal and family life as well. I created a work schedule for myself in order to able to spend additional time with my children and allowed me to be involved in their daily routine and activities. With additional help in my business and and amazing team I have been able to create this work/life balance.
What websites do you visit every day?
American Dental Association
What are your top three favorite people/places/things to do in your city?
Eating! I enjoy spending time at Reston Town Center because of its convenient location, being outdoors and relaxing atmosphere. One of my favorite places to eat is the Barcelona restaurant at town center.
I enjoy spending time and working out at the Lifetime Athletic Club and make sure that it is a vital part of my weekly routinevbecause it helps me stay moving!
My daughters and I love checking out the local playgrounds! One of our favorites is Clemyjontri Park in Mclean.
What is your goal for retirement?
My goal for retirement is to not really retire. Dentistry has the awesome flexibility that can be included within my retirement plans. I can still enjoy doing what I do best part time and travel and spend time with family during my retirement years.
Do you have any advice for women who'd like to start their own company?
I would advise any woman who wants to go to start a company to dedicate themselves 100% and not let anyone tell them that they can never be a business owner. Its important to keep the daily, weekly, monthly and long term goals always in sight and not allow little upsets along the way stop them. Every minor or even major hurdle can be handled and moved forward effectively. The passion and drive that females bring to healthcare or any business is what makes them very unique and successful in their areas of interest. I will give my two daughters the same advice and make sure they do not give into any of the hurdles that may pop up along their paths.
