Today, I braved the semi-armageddon that was happening in DC to safely arrive at one of my favorite spots - Chef Geoff's on New Mexico Ave. With cold and flu season quickly approaching, I was invited by Braun to enjoy some comfort food and a private cooking class with Executive Chef Jerome Sharpe.
We got up close and personal with the Pumpkin and Black Bean Chili, Butternut Squash Risotto with Pan Seared Scallops, and Apple Fritters.
(On a side note, I also learned how to properly cut onions, vegetables, and apples - who knew I'd been doing it all wrong!?)
Afterwards, we had the opportunity to review the latest innovations from Braunthermometers and help support your local children’s hospital too! The new Braun "No Touch + forehead" thermometer can be used perfectly with a sleeping child (or cranky husband). You simply hold the thermometer in front of their forehead (with a light to guide you) and it will give you the perfect temperature reading. The same thermometer can be used by placing it on the forehead if you wish to do so.
You can follow @BraunTherms and you can catch the Braun Bus around the DC area. For every temperature taken with the new Braun No touch + forehead thermometer OR the Braun ThermoScan ear thermometer, Braun will donate the dollar equivalent to the local children’s hospital (so if your temp is a normal 98.6 degrees F, that’ll be rounded up to $1).
Special thanks to Braun to inviting me out today :)
Hi! my name is Andrea and I'm a not-so-average Northern Virginia blogger, mom, and transplant from the Midwest. I host Girls Night Out events, meet ups, and write about events and my adventures in the DC area. I love to travel, brunch, and drink wine with my neighbors! I'm known to live on the wild side and order Venti iced double shots at 5pm.
