Have you noticed a new trend at Walt Disney World? It’s called “Millennial Pink” and it’s everywhere from magic bands to ears to spirit jerseys to specialty drinks and snacks! Now, I must admit, I had never heard of Millennial Pink until Disney introduced it. Recently, I saw some of my sister cities trying the Millennial Pink Celebration Toast at Amorette’s Patisserie in Disney Springs (formally Downtown Disney) and decided I needed to check it out for myself – because who doesn’t love a gorgeous pink drink with Minnie ears on top?!
You might be asking, so what is the Millennial Pink Celebration Toast at Disney Springs? Well, it’s Fairy Tale Celebration Cuvee (sparkling wine aka champagne that isn’t from Champagne, France) topped with a beautiful sparkly pink chocolate Minnie ears complete with bow. The sparkling wine is also pink and shimmery – what’s a Millennial not to love?!
Now, I’ve heard people say rose gold is out and Millennial Pink is in, but sorry (not sorry) this is simply not true. I love pink sparkly things, and these new Disney treats are great, but rose gold still has my heart <3 Plus thanks you all of your feedback on my Facebook post, I think we can all agree on this - I mean, why can't we just have both?

Do you use Yelp? These days, it’s pretty rare to find someone that doesn’t. On vacation and don’t know where to eat? Yelp. Have a craving for avocado toast? Yelp. Had the best or worst experience at a restaurant? Yelp. Yelp is a great tool to get ideas, see photos of the food you plan to order (especially if you are as indecisive as me), and help others know the best places to go. In the age of Yelp, everyone is a food critic.
Did you know that can be rewarded for using Yelp? Of course, you have to do more than just look things up; you must contribute, interact, make connections, and share experiences – both bad AND good. If you do this, you might just become what is known as, “Yelp Elite,” complete with badge and all.
Being the huge foodie that I am, I’m proud to say that I was rewarded “Elite” status last month. To say I was excited to receive that badge of honor is an understatement – I literally screamed out in glee!
So you are probably wondering, why is being “Elite” so special? Well, each community has their own Yelp Elite Squad with their very own community manager. (Here in Orlando, it’s Andi P.) The community managers plan special events that only Elites can attend! For example, in Orlando, they’ve had Florida Film Festival celebrations, pre-grand opening dinners at local restaurants, and even advanced movie screenings! I personally just attended my very first Yelp Elite event at the soon-to-open (April 23rd) Hawkers in Windermere, and oh boy were we spoiled! Free swag, free drinks, and incredible free food.
(Be sure to check my Instagram & Facebook posts for highlights of this event)
So as you can see, there’s more to Yelp than just reading a review or posting something negative. Get involved and you too might find yourself reaping the benefits of being a Yelp Elite.

About The Magic Yarn Project
Two moms started a project to make a few dozen princess yarn wigs for young girls battling cancer. Chemotherapy treatments leave young scalps too sensitive for traditional wigs, but yarn-wigs are comfy, soft, and warm. Magic yarn wigs are inspired by beloved Disney characters, and invite children back to the world of play and daydreaming. They are a beacon of fun, laughter, and play during a scary time. The demand for magic wigs grows daily! Every year, roughly 83,000 young girls, ages 2-10, are diagnosed with cancer (5,000 in the US).
The Princess Wigs
Magic Yarn wigs are made with soft acrylic yarns, and embellished with gems, crocheted flowers, starfish and snowflakes, silk flowers, and nylon/polyester ribbons. Volunteers send The Magic Yarn Project handmade crocheted beanies/hats. At their workshops, they attach long strands of yarn and accessories to the beanies, and style them to resemble a variety of princesses. Their wigs are machine washable when placed in a mesh laundry bag. They deliver them in clear cellophane packaging with a whimsical greeting card and information on their project for the child's parents. The wigs are made 100% by volunteers and funded 100% by donations of yarn and money.
As of March 2018, they have delivered 7,010 wigs, have had 4,300+ volunteers (Magic Makers as they call them), and have shipped to 36 countries!
The Florida Chapter
The Florida chapter leader is Taunya Shelton. She will be teaching workshops on making the wigs, mailing out wig kits, collecting supplies and donated wigs, and delivering wigs to local area Children’s cancer hospitals. This chapter also works with a sector of the Make A Wish Foundation to deliver princess and pirate wigs to children attending Disney (as part of their wish) so that they can participate in the Disney Princess and Pirate makeover parade!
