Florida’s history is coming back to haunt you as Dark Horizon: Point of No Return makes its debut in Orlando, Florida October 4 – November 2, 2019 with the first-ever West Coast-style haunt in the East. Brought to you by the award-winning creators, producers, and directors for one of the most terrifying haunts in the world: The Queen Mary’s Dark Harbor. Dark Horizon is pleased to announce three gruesome haunted houses, two death-defying live entertainment stages, multiple immersive bars, private party Bootlegger Bungalows and more.
Dark Horizon emerges in Orlando with much anticipation, to feast upon fears, fray nerves, and curdle the blood of its daring visitors. The haunted attraction is divided into different zones, each highlighting pieces of Florida’s dark history, myths and lore. “We really like to dive into local legends and history,” shared Charity Hill Co-producer for Dark Horizon.
The Port is akin to one of the late 1700’s pirate port’s in what is now Florida. This zone features the Bootlegger Bungalows, Walk the Plank Pub & Pier, Siren Stage, Dark Horizon Gift Shop, Shark Bites and the entrance to the Marketplace and Panic! 4-D Maze Experience. The Port is also home to the haunted house, Ghostship, a disease-infested, loot-filled vessel adrift on the high seas. This phantom tall ship is filled with deranged and decaying seamen bound to wreak havoc in Dark Horizon’s Port. Will you live to tell the tale or will Captain Killigrew, the most feared female pirate in history, and her derelict crew be your demise?
Escape the clutches of one of Florida’s first serial killer’s, Edgar “Bloody” Watson in the haunted house: Murder Island. Known as a hotbed for murderers, ancient creatures and bizarre tales, thrill-seekers will come face-to-face with the brutality that shadowed the 10,000 islands in the late 1800’s turning it into a shallow grave for at least 57 of Bloody Watson’s sugar cane workers. Murder Island is in The Glades Zone, a virtually lawless land, home to the VIP Storm Cellar, Outpost Pub and Gator Grub.
Experience Sacred Circle Stage and Shelter Patio in The Village. This area is under the enchantment of Mambo Cècile and the haunted house: Vodou. The high priestess has awakened the ancient Loa Agwe, spirit of the water, so proceed with extreme caution through the foggy bog to the underworld Volikan.
For those looking to elevate their experience, Dark Horizon offers an air-conditioned R.I.P. Lounge (or VIP Lounge), called the Storm Cellar R.I.P. Lounge accessed only by a coveted key. This experience includes two complimentary cocktails and grants access to a premium full bar featuring Moonshine Tastings. This key must be used in combination with an event admission ticket, and is for guests ages 21-years and older. Want to skip the lines? Expedite your entry into the event and all the haunted houses with a Fast Fright Ticket (starting at just $74 per person). Or, enjoy nearly instant entry into the event and all the haunted houses with an Evil Express Ticket (starting at $94 per person). Looking for a high-class VIP experience? Spring for the most exclusive experience at Dark Horizon with the Ultimate Scream ticket. This privately-guided and curated experience is extremely limited and available on select nights. Fast Fright and Evil Express Tickets are limited nightly and prices vary depending on date.
With Dark Horizon’s disturbingly creative minds, 4 bars and Bootlegger Bungalows, 3 haunted houses and scare zones, 2 live stages, 1 Panic! 4-D Experience, and hundreds of Monsters, Dark Horizon is certain to be a screamin’ good time.
Dark Horizon opens its doors on October 4 and continues to scare those who dare on select nights through November 2. General admission ticket prices start at just $20 online with Happy Haunting Hour, Fast Fright, Evil Express, Ultimate Scream tickets and Storm Cellar R.I.P. Lounge keys available.

Today I had the honor of attending a cast member preview event of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios as the guest of a cast member.
I’ve been looking forward to this new land since the announcement years ago, just like the other lands before it (Pandora and Toy Story), but I was really unsure what to expect. I mean, how the HECK were they going to pull this off and make it amazing enough to make back all the money they were investing and then some? When I found out that I would be going to the preview, it was hard to contain my excitement and post it all over the internet. I know this was allowed, but I wanted to keep it a little bit of a special secret.
Anyway, let’s get to what you all came here for. Today we got to explore the new land from 11am-3pm and ride the Millenium Falcon. After passing very high security checkpoints, we entered Galaxy’s Edge and it immediately felt like we left Hollywood Studios and had entered a new park. Everything was huge and so well thought out and done, down to the prints in the ground from droids and other creatures of Batuu, and the outfits all the cast members were wearing. (Oh and they even tell you how much something is in “credits”!) Unfortunately the ride, “Rise of the Resistance” does not open until December, so I have nothing to share on that. But I was able to get some great photos before heading towards the marketplace.
The marketplace area was seriously so awesome. I just loved all the detail the Imagineers put into it. There are lots of little shops as well as little snack areas here. If you head all the way towards the back and walk out, you will find yourself near the Docking Bay 7 quick serve, the lightsaber store, and the “Millenium Falcon” ride (just to name a few things).
The Millenium Falcon was really cool. Before the ride you can snap some photos and look around, which is really nice too. I got to be one of the pilots, which was not easy! It was pretty awesome getting to sit in the famous seat you see in all the movies.
For lunch we tried the Docking Bay 7 and let me tell you - YUM! We went all out and tried a bunch of goodies (menu provided for your viewing pleasure).
For entrees we got the Roasted Endorian Tip-Yip Salad and the Felucian Garden Spread. We ordered both desserts, and then tried the Moof Juice and the alcoholic beverage (don’t remember the name and it isn’t listed on this menu). Honestly, it was all delish! However, of the 2 desserts, I say go with the chocolate one (Batuu-Bon).
After lunch we explored the lightsaber shop, the droid shop, and more. The lightsaber shop was so cool and I so badly wanted to leave with a Rey lightsaber...maybe in the future. We then tried some blue milk and green milk. Both drinks are dairy-free, made with coconut and rice milks. You can get alcohol added to them, but we decided not to as it was so hot out. We had heard these drinks weren’t very good from those that have been to the park in Disneyland, but we wanted to make our own opinions. The truth? Not very good. The blue one is more berry flavor and the green is more citrus, but they both don’t have a lot of flavor and they both just aren’t very tasty. They aren’t that creamy (as someone asked us) and we didn’t finish either. I think the recipe could be tweaked, but in order to serve many people, I just don’t think it will be. However, if they are trying to have the success of Butterbeer at Universal, they really should change the recipe as this seems to be a popular consensus.
After a little more looking around and photo taking, we finally left right as our time there was ending. Leaving the land was like a shock because it honestly felt like we were somewhere so hidden and different, it did not feel like we were within Hollywood Studios.
So my thoughts? I LOVED this new land, Disney did an AMAZING job with it, and I cannot wait to return - although it probably won’t be for a long time =( This land is bound to be very busy for a very long time.

As much as I hate the term “Millenial” and have gotten super upset about it over the past few years, I’ve decided to start embracing it. As a Millenial, The Lion King was a staple of my childhood. Having debuted in the Summer of 1994, I was 6 years old and it was also my first time ever going to Disney World. Although I cannot recall seeing it in the movie theater or if a huge deal was made of it at the parks (I’m sure it was), I do remember LOVING the movie. So for 25 years I have truly loved and appreciated this amazing Disney classic.
So after seeing it in the theater this weekend, I decided a review needed to be written. Did it live up the hype? Was it worth it? Will it ruin my childhood memories? What about the classic songs? Many of these are questions we all have about all these new live-action remakes Disney has been releasing, so here I will be answering them for you in a SPOILER-FREE fashion.
Did it live up to the hype? HECK YES! Guys, this movie was seriously so amazing. I cried, I laughed till I cried, I was in suspense, I loved EVERY. SINGLE. MINUTE. So yes, I would say it was definitely worth it, and I’m going to be honest with you, I plan to go see this movie again ASAP.
Will it ruin your childhood memories? NO! If anything, I think it just enhances all those feelings you had seeing it growing up.
Why did I love it so much? The original was great in all its animation glory, but this movie is giving you a gorgeous up-close view of what these animals truly look like as well as what the savannah and pride lands really look like. To watch a real animal (ok, CGI) do these things and live in this moment was breathtaking. I honestly had more emotional moments because of this too. Animation is great, but seeing an animal show affection for another animal is always so heartwarming, and here you have it on the big screen - how can you not feel more emotional?! Obviously this also makes some scenes a little more hard to watch (I think you know which scene I’m talking about), but again, pulling on those emotional heart strings.
Timon and Pumba were probably my favorite in this new rendition. They were more hysterical than ever and I loved some of the new lines. Billy Eichner and Seth Rogan made this part better than ever.
What about those classic songs? I think they were even better than ever as well. Between using someone with an African accent to remake “Circle of Life,” to young Nala’s gorgeous voice, and then having Beyonce as adult Nala, how could the music go wrong? There were also a few new songs sprinkled in that were equally as enjoyable and tastefully placed.
Is it good for children? Look, I don’t have children, but children these days see things that I never would have been able to sit through as a child. If you would let your child watch a documentary on animals in Africa, then I think they should be fine. There are some amazing positive & growth mindset messages in this new adaptation of the film that really made me proud and that I hope resonates with today’s youth.
My final thoughts on this new Lion King film is that it gives ALL THE FEELS, is totally worth it, Disney blew it out of the park, and is a MUST-SEE this summer! I can’t wait to see it again and I will totally be buying it.
How did you feel about the movie? Comment below to let us know your thoughts!
