After the doves have flown, the rice has been thrown, and the confetti and/or rose petals have been swept away, the honeymoon awaits. When it comes to the honeymoon, the world is your oyster. You literally have anywhere in the world as a destination for this affair. Creativity and budget are your only limitations in this particular venture. It is common for couples to get advice for their wedding from family and friends; however, the honeymoon is usually tailored to suit the couple specifically.
In the US an estimated 1.4 million couples take honeymoons annually. Among the couples that have a traditional wedding approximately 99 percent will choose to go on a honeymoon. The honeymoon is typically booked four months before the wedding and lasts eight days on average.
Even if you are on a budget, you can enjoy an enthralling honeymoon vacation. Precise and proper planning can yield a pretty terrific honeymoon getaway for you and your new spouse. Here we will focus on some goals you can set for your honeymoon to maximize your experience.
1. Meet the Heat
There is nothing like enjoying paradise with the one you love. You should consider having your honeymoon somewhere that is nice and hot with a beach. Packages similar to those seen at Beaches by Sandals provide affordable solutions for those that wish to explore luxurious beaches.
2. Explore the Ocean
Most honeymoons take place on the exotic shores of the world. These magnificent shores embrace the oceans by way of the beautiful beaches that exist at the shore’s end. There are so many water-related activities to enjoy on your vacation. You can go snorkeling, kayaking, scuba diving, jet skiing parasailing, paddle boating, and participate in a host of other water adventures.
3. Romance, Romance, Romance
Did we say romance? Passion is the real language of love. Keep in mind that romance is all about the sentiment and not so much about how much money is spent. Make an effort to find the subtle things that will create a romantic ambiance.
4. Capture Every Moment
Don’t miss the opportunity to make the memories last by taking pictures and recording video of your experience. You want to be sure you get as much footage and as many images as possible.
5. Interact with the Locals
Part of the enchantment of traveling to exotic locations is interacting with the residents in the area. You will find that there are people that speak English in most areas where tourism is popular. You want to be safe and do your due diligence beforehand.
6. Be Adventurous
Sometimes it is good to throw caution to the wind a little bit. Sometimes you need to seize the moment. If there was ever a time to tap into your inner sense of adventure, this is the ideal time to do so. Look for excursions and activities that will cause you to test your limits—in a safe and fun way.
7. Light up the Night
When the sun goes down the fun is just beginning. Do not neglect the thrill of the nightlife on your honeymoons. Great food, dancing, and good spirits will assure that you have the time of your life; under the light of the moon.
8. Get Some R & R
Amidst all of the fun and excitement you will obviously have planned, make sure to get some rest and relaxation. The beach is the perfect place to waste time and enjoy each other’s company on your honeymoon. Spa dates are also a fantastic way to relax and get the royal treatment while on your trip.
9. Take the Scenic Route
You are on vacation, so do not haste and rush during this time. Enjoy the view and take scenic routes when necessary. Squeeze every ounce out of the experience that you can. Take the long way when going to places to see what wondrous sights your eyes can behold.
10. Cherish the Memories
When you get home from your honeymoon, reflect on the wonderful time you both had. Spend time together creating a honeymoon photo album, slideshow, and compiling video clips from your trip.
Your honeymoon is a once-in-a-lifetime experience and should be planned with the greatest of care. This is the time that is set aside for the two of you to connect on a deeper level as you enjoy and explore luxurious and exotic locations together. This is the golden opportunity to do the things you have always dreamed of. Make the most of every moment.
Can you feel it in the air? Love is here to stay. With your wedding around the corner, you can’t help but be excited about marrying your soulmate. However, at the same time, your nerves are probably in shambles.
I mean, just planning a wedding by itself causes your blood pressure to skyrocket. Now, we are talking about planning a wedding, a ceremony, and even a honeymoon. Not to mention the full-time job you need to pay for all of the expenses that come accompanying these festivities.
But, at the same time - this has been something you have dreamt about since you were a little girl. And you want it perfect. Being anxious is completely normal.
Although pre-jitters are perfectly normal, it can become overwhelming. Here are some tips to calm your nerves.
Don’t Hold Your Feelings In
As mentioned before wedding planning can cause stress levels to escalate. However, there are other factors which can be triggering the jitters.
Perhaps having doubts about marrying your spouse? Are you wondering if it is too soon for marriage? Are the thoughts of the future such as having children overwhelming you? If this sounds like what is going through your mind then you should speak to your fiancé.
Having an honest conversation about the future will clear the air of expectations. It will also give you a piece of mind that there are no misunderstandings. This way you are both on the same page and know what is ahead.
If speaking to a friend or family relative sounds more soothing then go ahead. Have a chat over coffee and speak about your feelings to them. They may be able to give you advice on marriage if they are already married. Who knows, maybe they had the same jitters you are experiencing.
Meditate To Reconnect
See meditation as a one-stop - solution to all your problems. Sometimes there may be bridges between what you want from your wedding and what others want from you. Perhaps you want an outdoor wedding, but your in-laws are not keen to the idea.
At times like this, when nobody agrees on anything you may feel like screaming. Instead of screaming we suggest you try meditating. Get in touch with your inner self.
Meditation allows us to connect with the world inside ourselves. After you find your cool go back to planning with a new, calmer mindset. This way there won’t be anybody losing their temper and perhaps compromising can take place.
Leave Room For Surprises
Do things always go your way in life? If yes, you are one lucky star. Unfortunately, on your wedding day, it is almost definite that things will go wrong or at least not as planned.
Whether it is before, during or after the wedding surprises will pop up at any time. I know of couples who have had the strangest experiences. From the wedding cake not being ready on time to their planned outdoor wedding being blessed by torrential rain. Some couples even change their honeymoon destination last minute. One just doesn't know what to expect.
Even though you are going to have the unexpected surprises, make the most of it. It is all about you and your spouse. The material things do not matter.
Relax With Your Spouse
Spend some time with your fiancé when not speaking about wedding plans. When planning is all you speak about of course it is going to cause stress.
Relaxing with your sweetheart will allow you to calm your nerves because you are simply being present. You will also remember why you are marrying him in the first place.
Perhaps, bring out the popcorn and watch some Netflix. If being at home is not your cup of tea then go bowling or have a panic. Do something which you enjoy as a couple. They will definitely also appreciate it.
Once again remember that pre-wedding jitters are completely normal. Everybody who is about to get married experiences them.
One thing to keep in mind is that you have your family and friends to lean on for support. The night before your wedding gather your bridesmaids to help prepare you for your big day. They can also help calm those nerves. Have a glass of wine with them.
If you prefer to be on your own that is perfectly fine. Take a nice, hot and bubbly bath with a glass of wine. Get some beauty sleep in before your big day. Being well-rested will help you have enough energy for the wedding. Remember not to overthink things as it causes unnecessary stress for yourself.
Before getting dressed head down the aisle, take a deep breathe and compose yourself. Remind yourself that you are marrying the love of your life.
Now that you have your pre-jitters settled, you can enjoy your wedding celebrations. Enjoy the rest of your life with your soon-to-be husband/wife.
Washington, D.C. (June 15, 2016) —Blue Duck Tavern & Blue Duck Lounge at Park Hyatt Washington, located at 24th and M Streets, NW, 20037, are pleased to introduce the newest addition to their innovative Gin & Tonic program at the bar, house-made Matcha Tonic. Packed with an arsenal of antioxidants, Blue Duck Tavern's new matcha tonic is made with all natural ingredients such as sugar in the raw, grapefruit zest, yuzu juice, chinchona bark, and matcha tea. For the perfect complement, guests are invited to pair their matcha tonic with Strawberry house-infused gin, or experiment with one of Blue Duck Tavern's other unique pairings. Selections for the gin & tonic program include: Green Almond orCardamom Cilantro-infused gins, with Rhubarb and Espelette or Lime and Pink Peppercorn flavored tonics. Gin & Tonics are priced at $14 each.
Additionally, those seeking a non-alcoholic pick me up can savor a traditional Matcha Tea, Matcha Latte, or a refreshing Iced Matcha to ward off the summer heat, all priced at $10 each. Blue Duck Tavern and Lounge carefully prepares each matcha tea creating a smooth, creamy, sweet beverage. Matcha is the perfect way to start the day as it is naturally one of the most concentrated sources of antioxidants on the planet. One cup of matcha has around 10 times the amount of antioxidants when compared to a cup of regular loose leaf tea. Blue Duck Tavern's matcha contains a relatively high caffeine content compared to other teas which gives a refreshing energetic lift without the “jitters.”
Blue Duck Tavern source's their matcha from Rare Tea Cellars and only the best quality tencha is used for their Premium matcha Tea. Each batch is imported directly from Nishio, Japan, where the best matcha in the world is produced. Tencha is the Gyokuro leaves that have been shaded and carefully picked by hand; then they sort and discard any stems or damaged leaves. This process is then followed by stone grinding the leaves to create the bright spring green powder. Part of the uniqueness of matcha is that it includes the entire leaf. For all other tea, no matter where it is grow and no matter how it is processed, one infuses tea leaves in water, discards the leaves and drinks only the tea-flavored water. In matcha, one drinks the leaf and water because it is brewed from a dried, powdered full leaf, leaving nothing left to be discarded. This, more than anything else, is why the flavor and the naturally-occurring elements are more intense and more healthful.

Don’t say yes to everything. While many people set high productivity standards for themselves, it’s necessary to be realistic about your time limitations. It’s okay to say no to requests from others—or even from yourself—and not feel bad about it. Instead, be proud of what you have accomplished and confident in the tasks you’ve chosen to prioritize.
Use your commute for less intensive tasks. Many people consider the daily commute as valuable productivity time. While that’s true, this time doesn’t have to be spent taking care of your most stressful tasks. Instead of answering work emails or crunching numbers, use the commute to check off less intensive tasks that still make you productive, such as brainstorming play-date ideas for your child, calling your mother to say hi, listening to a podcast you’ve been wanting to tune into, or even using this time to relieve some stress by singing along with the radio!
Live by your organized calendar. There’s nothing that helps you stay productive better than an organized, beautiful, and functional calendar. Seek out a calendar app that reflects your personality, doesn’t bore you with a grey and lackluster interface, adapts to your life, and allows you to easily move appointments, send meeting invites, link your emails or Facebook events, and see your list of reminders all in one place. The right calendar app will ensure that you’ll never miss an event and can take pride in your completed tasks.
Evaluate and eliminate time and money wasting relationships. Ever feel overwhelmed by the amount of marketing emails, texts or calls you receive? How about the acquaintances whose invitations you keep declining? By assessing your email inbox, friendships, and commitments, you can easily declutter your life by unsubscribing. Remove yourself from any pesky or irrelevant retail mailing lists and focus on spending your time with those you truly want to spend your time with.
Quit multi-tasking. It’s difficult in this day and age to tune out all of the distractions and focus on the task at hand. Social media, a buzzing phone, happy children begging to play, emails constantly arriving, a never-ending to-do list, or even “worker’s block” all make it tempting to jump from task to task. By putting your phone in the other room on silent, taking your email offline, or pre-arranging play dates, nannies, or a convenient nap time, you can convince yourself to quit multi-tasking and focus on one task at a time. In the end, you’ll be amazed at how much you can accomplish!
