Let's be honest. Who doesn't love pot pies!? I have seen this recipe in so many places and tweaked a little each time so there is no way I could begin to credit the original BUT I decided to share anyway!
Mini Pot Pies are absolutely adorable and such a quick easy dinner. Four ingredients and 40 Minutes! That's all mine took and they could have been faster but I steamed my chicken instead of using precooked!
You will need:
Cream of Chicken!
( Campbell's is my favorite but any kind will work )
( I used frozen but canned will work too )
( What Kind is totally preference! Some even use Croissant dough, however biscuit is more convenient because of its round shape)
( I steamed some chicken tenderloins for mine but you can use canned chicken or a rotisserie style)
You want to make sure to prep your chicken, If you are using fresh chicken like I did I highly suggest steaming it. Its quick, simple and you can get other things done while its cooking. I steamed mine for about 15 minutes, which is all it takes to be just about perfect in my Aroma Rice Cooker + Food Steamer and then diced it up! For Rotisserie Chicken all you need to do is shred it off the bone!
Step 2! If you haven’t already, make sure to preheat your oven to 375 degrees and get all of your other supplies and ingredients ready! (can opener, muffin pan, spoon, etc)
Prep your veggies! Follow the directions on your package but make sure to under-cook them. They will also get some oven time so you don’t want them overdone. I defrosted mine for about 3 minutes.
Add your Chicken, Veggies, and Cream of Chicken to a bowl and mix it up.
Spray a layer of non stick spray (or use oil) on your muffin pan and get ready to make your ‘crust’
Now you can do this two ways.
Fill each dough spot with a couple of spoonful’s of your filling mix. (I used about a little less than half a cup each)
Step 8! Place pan in the oven at 375 degrees for 20 – 25 minutes or until golden brown to your liking. Make sure to watch them as they bake so they don’t burn.
Once done, simply run a spoon or knife around the edges and pop them out.
Voila! Eat and Enjoy!
We chatted with the owner of KDCleans this month and put together a little list of Cleaning Hacks to help you with your Spring Cleaning! We all hate cleaning, ( At least I know I do) but hopefully these helpful hacks will make your cleaning a little easier this season!
A cheap way to dispel pet odors is to sprinkle baking soda on carpet and wait 15 mins and vacuum.
Clogged Drain? Try this!
If you notice your drain is starting to clog, pour a 1/2 cup of baking soda down it, followed by a 1/2 cup of vinegar. Cover with a wet cloth to contain the science fair-like effects. Wait five minutes and then flush with hot water.
Hate dusting those baseboards? Fabric Softener to the rescue!
If you heat the bathroom up just 10 degrees above the normal air temp, it doubles the effectiveness of alkaline cleansers. Let the disinfectants sit for at least 5-7 mins and rinse afterwards. Fill the tub up with hottest water to raise the temperature.
Fantastic Cleaners you probably already have!
Baking soda, vinegar, dawn, and hydrogen peroxide are great cleaners you probably already have in your home, but never thought about using.
Glass Stove top tip!
Glass stove top cleaner: Pour some dawn onto the stove, sprinkle with baking soda and then pour some hydrogen peroxide on top. scrub and mix together and let sit 3-5 minutes and then rinse off. Works so much better than the expensive glass stove top cleaners.
Do you use Dawn? If not, you should!
Dawn is great to clean with, counter tops, windows and glass. To clean glass, put on a rag and wet with water and scrub onto the glass. Use a squeegee to get excess off. Leaves, no streaks.
Do you hate carpet stains? Here's a trick!
Vinegar and baking soda combined are great for getting stains off carpet.
LEMONS LEMONS & More Lemons!
Lemons, are great! Use them to get rid of stains and smells on cutting boards by taking the cut side of a lemon and rub on the stains. For extra power, sprinkle salt and/or baking soda on it first.
"World's Best Glass Cleaner"
Sprayway's "World's Best Glass Cleaner." really is the best glass cleaner. I use a microfiber rag to wipe the glass and a separate dry microfiber rag to "polish" to make sure I do not leave streaks.
Dusty Air Vents?
Wax your vents with car wax to keep dust off them all year long
Clean that Chrome!
Soak a soft cloth with vodka and shine and clean chrome, glass and porcelain fixtures.
Water stains on your tap?
If you wipe the surface of a tap with some wax paper. It helps prevent water stains.
Trying to get rid of that foul smell before the guests arrive??
To help dispel foul smells and make your home smell nice, put a teaspoon of vanilla extract into a bowl and place it in a preheated oven.
Hate that wet trash bag?
Avoid having a wet trash bag by placing newspapers at the bottom of your trash can so it will soak up any leftover food juices.
DIY All purpose cleaner!
For those pesky baseboards!
Clean baseboards, if super dusty, dry dust first. Then take a lightly wet magic eraser sponge and wipe. Dry with paper towel, rag, or air dry and then rub with a dryer sheet to repel future dust.
