Life is ironic when you are young you love a snow day. When you get older its not as much fun! Luckily, I live in the city of brotherly love and my Philadelphia House Wives family is understanding as to why I canceled the first House Wives in the City event of the year. I love all my Philadelphia brothers and sisters and couldn't image if anything would ever happen to any one attending Galentinesday Girls Night Out Event.
In the great words of Dolly Parton “If you want the rainbow, you have to put up with the rain.” We had a little rain now we get to enjoy a rainbow! Looking forward to a Snow and Rain free event on Monday! Please check out Facebook for more details.
On these snowy days I prefer to look like I might have actually seen the sun.
I achieve my golden look while still on a budget using Jergens Natural Glow Wet Skin Moisturizer Medium/Tan. This is super simple to use. You simply just apply it as soon as your are done in the shower or tub. In the directions it says to use your towel to help blend but, I noticed I went though way to many towels. I suggest just drying your skin about half way and then just rubbing in the excess. Yes, I apply this to my face and neck as well! I don’t use my normal moisturizer when I do this.
The difficult part is your hands! I suggest going over the top of your hands with the Glow Wet Skin then taking a Cotton round with makeup remover on it or using a makeup wipe between the webs of your fingers . Unless you wanna look like your hands are contoured.
This is my easy winter glow look! Super easy and perfect for winter!
My favorite part of the big game besides the commercials and half time show is entertaining. I have a quick and inexpensive way to feed a lot of guest. Root beer pulled pork BBQ in the crock pot also fabulous for any potluck!
You will need:
1. Pork shoulder you want to get about 1/2 pound per person.
2. 1 12oz Bottle of root beer or can
3. 1 bottle of Baby Rays BBQ or to taste
Light seasonings as to personal preference. I use a little pepper and also a pinch of basil too.
Now all you have to do is put them all in a crock pot and forget about it!
I like to always start it the night before and leave it on low for 10 hours but, if you're in a rush you can do it on high for 6-8 hours.
I also purchased coleslaw and potato rolls for the guest to either putt all together on a sandwich or enjoy separately.
I recently visited the stunningly renovated Met Philadelphia, originally built in 1908, where my husband and I saw our favorite band, The Revivalist.
I wasn’t sure how I felt seeing a band with assigned seats, but it was wonderful! We sat in the orchestra section B. We had a great view and really enjoyed being able to sit and stand and having somewhere to put our coats. The staff members were extremely helpful and organized and the building was very clean.
I also noticed they had some light snacks and a variety of alcoholic beverages. My only complaint was the lack of parking and that the price of parking around the venue was outrageous! The prices we saw were $60 for a VIP lot and $40 for another lot. I would suggest arriving early and finding street parking or taking an Uber or Lift.
Looking forward to seeing many more shows here with some great artists!

If you're in Philly, you'll want to make some time on your calendar to attend the Sofitel Philadelphia Art Reception on December 4, 2018 featuring work from artist Alfred Ortega. Ortega's paintings will be displayed throughout the lobby and reception areas.
One of the things that I love about Sofitel (aside from their cozy rooms!), is the fact that they value community and local artisans - they bring in local artists to showcase three times a year!
The General Manager of the Sofitel Philadelphia states, "Community involvement is very important to us at the Sofitel. We strive to be part of the community and are always looking for opportunities to give back. Not only do we donate financially to organizations such as Broad Street Ministries and The Attic Youth Center, we have also made the decision to shift an international to a local curator specifically showcasing the incredible artwork of Philadelphia artists."
Attendees at the cocktail reception can sip the night's signature cocktail, the "Kensington Coco Old Fashion" and nibbling food samplings from the seasonal winter menu such as crab cakes, spring rolls, bouillabaisse spoons, smoked trout, creme brule, and lemon napoleon. Yum!
Alfred Ortega studied painting and sculpture at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and the artists work if represented by the Atlantic Gallery, Nantucket and the Ligne Roset Gallery, New York. Ortega's work has been exhibited at the Woodmere Museum and Twenty-two Gallery in Philadelphia.
It's hard to believe that we're already nearing the end of the month of November and are kicking off the holiday season! If you follow along on our social media pages, you know that I'm all about the holiday's and look for all of the festive activities to participate in each year.

Peddler's Village is a countryside shopping, dining, lodging and family entertainment destination in the heart of Buck's County and is well-known for its over the top holiday celebration! Trust us when we say that you'll want to make their holiday lights a part of your Christmas celebration this year.
On December 1, the Christmas Festival begins, which includes a number of happenings throughout the village, and the highly anticipated Santa Parade!
This time of year, extended hours apply: 10:00AM to 9:00PM Monday through Saturday and 11:00AM to 7:00PM on Sunday's.
If you've talked to me, you know that philanthropy is near and dear to my heart and that I am a big proponent of spreading positivity and kindness like glitter. I simply cannot wrap my head around the fact that others don't always share this mentality, and I'm forever on a mission to change that.
By chance, I discovered that today is World Kindness Day, and it's an annual celebration each thirteenth of November. With Thanksgiving coming up, I've seen people talking about gratefulness and being appreciative of what they have; however, I think this WKD falls at just the right time.
Sure, we should be grateful for everything and everyone around us, but I love that WKD actually emphasizes making others see the light at the end of the tunnel too. The reality is that some people struggle, and that hardship can often toughen the soul. Scrooge and The Grinch, anyone?
Today, let's help the world celebrate and inspire kindness. No act of kindness or good deed is too small. A simple smile in the direction of someone who might have just gotten some bad news, and is contemplating how they'll make it through their day. Holding the door for that frazzled mama with a baby in her arms, one tantrum away from a meltdown herself. Adding on that $1 to your shopping trip to help a non-profit reach their fundraising goals.
Do you see the pattern here? It's so easy to be kind, and our kindness can actually change the trajectory of someone's day and sometimes, their lives. Let's take this time to inspire the same reaction and positive habits in others, and watch the pattern that stems from that.
Growing up, I was fortunate to not have many allergies to hinder my trick or treating, but as an adult it's hard to avoid the fact that allergies happen and there are children who risk getting sick or simply miss out on all the fun.
This year, we'll be participating in the Teal Pumpkin Project, which ensures that all children, regardless of their allergy, can have a safe and fun Halloween.
Just like it sounds, paint a pumpkin a lovely shade of teal to let families know that you're participating and that your front door is one their little ones can safely run to with their pillowcases wide open!
