Steph Snaps Photos, Hilton McLean and Harth have yet again joined forces for their 2nd annual costume drive. The purpose of the drive is to secure gently used or new costume donations for local families. Cash donations are also accepted atwww.gofundme.com/costumedrive2016. The money collected will help purchase additional costumes with size requirements that have not been fulfilled through the donation process.
The collected costumes and funds will benefit a diverse number of non profit organizations in our community. Last year the children of the The Shelter House, The Alternative House and Jill’s House all benefited from this drive. The Alternative House’s provides a safe, nurturing environment for community members suffering from domestic violence. Jill's House provides respite for children with intellectual disabilities and the Shelter House serves homeless families and domestic violence victims in Fairfax. We were grateful last year to have the opportunity to outfit over 350 children with costumes.
Based on our success last year, this year we were able to diversify our drive further. Inova Children’s Hospital is allowing us the opportunity donate costumes as well as help with their Children’s Parade. The support of our community is what made this drive successful last year and we hope to benefit from the communities generosity again. Donations and Costumes are being accepted through October 14th. The Shelter House is a community-based non-profit organization serving homeless families and domestic violence victims in Fairfax County. With these organizations combined there are THREE HUNDRED children we are "outfiting" this year for Halloween.
Stephanie Snapkoski, owner of Steph Snaps Photos also works full time at the Hilton McLean Director of Sales and Marketing for Hilton McLean Tysons Corner and Harth (7920 Jones Branch Drive). An avid lover of the Holiday, she dresses her young son each day in October to celebrate. You can view the photos at http://stephsnapsphotos.pixieset.com/halloween After having a difficult time donating costumes she decided to start a drive of her own. In sharing her idea with her General Manager Brian Kelleher, he immediately rallied the hotel to support this effort. “Our Hotel is committed to not just fulfilling the business needs of our community but integrating ourselves with our community. Some holidays are better supported than others and I saw this as an opportunity to help support a Holiday that is so cherished by our youth but may be overlooked” New or gently used costumes of any size can be dropped off at Hilton McLean Tysons Corner any day. The hotel will offer its on-site laundry services to prepare all costumes for delivery the week of October 19. To learn more or to donate to the cause visit http://www.gofundme.com/costumedrive2016
