So down on White Street in Wake Forest amongst the cute shops, boutiques, and restaurants is a little salon. It's called Salon One21 & Colorbar - so named because they're address is 121 South White Street. They have a full staff of stylists that are glad to do cuts, coloring, updos, makeup, waxing, and even extensions - among several other services.
Tiffani Woodlief, the salon's owner and a master stylist, was born and raised in Wake Forest and always wanted to open a salon there. She attended hair school, along with being part of several worldwide hair competitions and fashion shows, and worked as a stylist for 9 years in Raleigh. That's when she decided to go out on her own and open a salon in Wake Forest. The buildings in this part of Wake Forest and full of history. Tiffani may have revamped and restyled her space but she definitely didn't cover up the character and nostalgia that we all love about downtown Wake Forest. Salon One21 is chic yet comfortable, it feels like home as soon as you walk in and the staff is wonderful too - everyone is super friendly!
Gourmutt's Bakery is Raleigh's only on-site bakery for dogs. They offer human grade treats, cakes and ice cream as well as premium dog and cat food, toys, chews, supplements, spa products, collars and gift items.
This month's leading lady, Tina Musselwhite, and her husband got a golden retriever puppy back in 1999 as a puppy mill rescue. The puppy had severe allergies by 6 months of age, so Tina started baking treats for her. In early 2000, Tina started Gourmutt's Bakery as a wholesale bakery in her home part-time while she worked full-time in human resources. In 2004, she quit her full-time job and opened a retail location in North Raleigh. By 2007, Tina had expanded to a larger retail space and added the boutique part of the business. Today, Tina has one full-time employee and 2 part-time employees at Gourmutt's Bakery!
In addition to Gourmutt's Bakery, Tina is a Rodan + Fields consultant - talk about an ambitious woman!
In 2015, a friend introduced Tina to the line of anti-aging skin care that was created by the creators of Proactiv. After using the products and seeing first-hand the results, she started learning about the business aspect and realized she would be crazy to not jump on board with this young company that is experiencing 106.5% sales growth yearly. In less than six months as a consultant, Tina has earned 3 promotions and pay increases. The growth and excitement of Rodan + Fields gives her even more passion to excel at both of her businesses!

Bored with the same, old, cookie cutter food at chain eateries, the original owners of Rosalini's Pizza and Subs in Rolesville set out to forge a better path in 2008. Rosalini's was created with the intention of serving up fresh, creative dishes of everyone's favorites in a family-friendly atmosphere. It was this purpose that attracted us, Greg and Tara Brelinsky, to take ownership in December 2015.
That’s the temperature that hair dryers are regulated not to exceed. So, while we won’t turn up the heat on our hair dryers (at least not past 140 degrees!), we do make it a practice to turn up the heat on the styles we offer in our dry bar. Why would we name our entire salon after this hair-drying tool? Because we’re so proud of our chic, creatively-inspired dry bar!
Hello! I'm Carli, a girl originally from Ohio, who could not be more proud to call Raleigh home the last 12+ years. By day, I work at SAS Institute but when I'm not working, I'm a mom to an amazing boy and 2 dogs. In my free time, I love to stay active working out, playing sports, traveling, crafting, attending a sports game/concert, or shopping!
