Meet Christina, the amazing wedding coordinator at Celebrations at the Reservoir! She attended Longwood University to become a teacher, however, during her senior year in college, she decided to pursue the wedding industry as a wedding coordinator. After doing her very first wedding on her own, she knew she had found her true passion. She was in love! She truly believes that if you love what you do and do what you love, you won't work a day in your life! She admits that she does have some (very, very) long, hard, detailed, and emotional days, but at the end of a weekend when every single one of her brides is happy, it's all worth it. And she could not imagine doing anything else.
Describe yourself in three words:
patient, organized, loving
What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?
I very much enjoy living a healthy lifestyle. I would love to attempt being a nutritionist. My boyfriend and I enjoy creating yummy dishes that are still healthy and nutritious.
What are your professional goals for the next six months?
We are working to bring in more corporate events during the week.
What do you consider your greatest professional achievement?
My boss decided she would "take a little nap" for two months in the middle of bridal season. To say I was a worried mess is an understatement (about her and my weddings!) We have an amazing team here at Celebrations that I am grateful for everyday. With their help, we pulled off over 60 perfect weddings without our boss. I was extremely proud.
How do you maintain a work/life balance?
I've learned that if I wake up just a bit earlier in the morning, I have extra "me time". I like to straighten up my home, meal prep for the day, and get in a workout. This way, once I get into the office, I feel refreshed and ready to go!
What websites do you visit every day?
PINTEREST! I love finding new recipes, DIY projects for our home, cleaning tips & tricks, and of course wedding ideas for all of my brides!
What are your top three favorite people/places/things to do in your city?
Enjoy a beautiful stroll in Carey Town, A country concert at Innsbrook After Hours, A good run (and swim for puppy!) at Belle Isle!
What is your goal for retirement?
To enjoy my family & traveling
Do you have any advice for women who'd like to start their own company?
Many times if you just believe in yourself, you'd be surprised at what you are able to accomplish!!
Any final comments?
Finding your passion in life is such a blessing. Just driving into our beautiful driveway each morning while enjoying the wildlife and scenery is one of my favorite part of the day. I couldn't work at a more beautiful place!
Be sure to check out Celebrations at the Reservoir! It is beautiful!
