We had been to an escape room before, but had been wanting to try another. We had done one quite a while ago, but I have heard that they are all fun and different and we should try our skill with another one, so for my niece's birthday in October, we did it!
She wanted to experience a family friendly evening and the rest of my family had never done an Escape Room, so we thought it was PERFECT!
Let's introduce the players and their ages, shall we?
ROOMS TO CHOOSE FROM
We chose the Price Is Right room for several reasons. We thought that the idea appealed to all ages in our group, my sister and I grew up watching Bob Barker and the "Barker Beauties", and my mother has Game Show Network on 24/7, so...it was a no brainer.
Let me start off by saying that these rooms are AMAZING! The detail that goes into these rooms, the decor, the memorabilia, and the stories behind them are so incredible! We were given 1 hour to complete the riddles, play the games, and solve the puzzles before getting a key to Bob Barker's dressing room. Inside, you discover there is a bomb meant for Mr. Barker and it's up to you to save his life and allow him to carry on his legacy as the most beloved game show host!
Although we were VERY familiar with Bob and his games, the owners, Garret and Jenna Carruth are experts at making this a challenge! We were stumped on a number of occasions and while we felt the "tick, tock" of the timer...we were able to get help. They have the capability of helping out the contestants when needed if you watch the monitor on the wall for clues! Whew! We BARELY made it out and the bomb...well, BOOM!
In the end, we had a lot of fun, worked together, and learned a lot about ourselves.
If you missed the event at The Landing at Chandler's, well, you missed a good time!
The newly updated Landing was light, bright and airy. The deck and sunset were the PERFECT backdrop for a lovely evening of shopping, mixing, and mingling with some of Rockwall, Forney, and Royse CIty's direct market sales reps, bakeries and brick and mortar stores!
October is domestic violence awareness month, so it only seemed fitting that we supported our featured charity, Women In Need. They are a local shelter for victims of domestic violence and offer free services to women in need. They have a 24 hr hotline, a designer boutique that is open to the public, legal advice, counseling services, and much more. If you haven't visited their boutique-it's definitely worth a trip! Their contact information, along with all of the other vendors, are included in this blog for you to connect with these amazing people and shop with them online or in person!
Be sure to come to our next event on November 7th, as we take over Z-Lounge inside Shenaniganz! Be sure to register your ticket online at:
