Have you been to one of the monthly Girls Night Out Socials? No? Are you looking for a reason to attend? Well here are five ways that having a Girl's Night is good for you.!
1. You get to take off your "mom hat’ for the night
Being a mom is an amazing job to have. It’s also the hardest job you’ll ever enjoy! And thought we typically eat, sleep and breathe motherhood responsibitilites, it is so nice to step out of that role for just a few hours. Get pretty, have adult conversations, have some conktails, make new friends and just enjoy being a woman...not the mom.
2. You smile a lot on a Girl's Night Out!
If you watch a table full of ladies at a bar or restaurant you will notice tons of launghing and smiling. It is guaranteed that if you go out with just the girls, the laughs starts flowing. All of these giggle produce endorphins, relaxes your nervous system and makes you feel more positive about yourself and the world. And you will go home smiling.
3. You process and purge all of your woes.
Women like to talk through our worries, so if we haven't had a chance to chat it out in a while, then it builds up and turns into stress. We’re not necessarily looking for a solution--just the act of sharing makes us feel better.. A great Girls Night Out allows you and your girlfriends get to whine, complain, and share about everything and anything. You get to go home with a clear head, ready to relax.
4. You feel prettier after a Girl's Night Out.
Women notice things that the men in our life don’t. And on top of that, they actually comment on those things. Did you switch shampoos and your hair is fuller...someone will notice. Did the lash growth serum start to work...someone will notice. Is that dress perfectly fitting, you will get that great comment. Rockin a new nail polish, someone will ask you where you got it. You will leave a Girl's Night Out feeling like the rock start supermodel that you are!
5. You come home energized
Though you might leave with a a cocktail buzz, the great buzz will the be the energy that you gain from a night out with some positive women. Reminds me of school days with chaotic slumber parties full of gossip, laughs and nonstop high energy. I went home exhausted but exhilarated and couldn't wait for the next one. Similar thing happens with a Girls Night Out. You will feel recharged and reconnected with your feminine energy and power.

Today was the first day of school. And for my son, it was just back to the routine, his friends and learning as he went to third grade at the same school he has been at since the beginning.. But for my daughter, today was a BIG step for her and for me....she went to Kindergarten! And though she was mentally, socially and overall more prepared and ready than my son was.... I can't help but need a moment.
A moment to let it sink in....my baby is no longer a baby. I know that. Kindergarten will change her as her world just got so much bigger the moment she walked into her classroom today. Though I love to see my kids grow, change and develop it is a day that requires great appreciation. Appreciation for the moments I had wit her as a baby. The days I had her all to myself. The questions she was unsure of, the innocence she will lose, the baby moments I will never get back.
So if you do not have kids or your kids are well into their school years or are grown, take a moment to reach out to the moms who are sending their littles off to Kindergarten. They need an extra text, call or hug this week!

When in Orlando, there are many places to dine, especially at Disney Springs. After a recent visit, I can personally recommend Wine George Bar. This a restaurant experience you will not want to miss! The estate-style wine bar featuring wine and food masterfully paired by Master Sommelier George Miliotes.
Wine George Bar offers a full bar plus over 140 wines --- all available by the glass, bottle...and the ounce! Alongside your wine, you can enjoy a full menu of small plates, cheese and charcuterie, family style plates and sweets.
For our meal, we started with the cheese board of 4 cheeses, olives, jam, a local honeycomb and almonds. Then we tried the Skirt Steak family plate which included a huge serving of perfectly prepared steak, roasted potatoes and asparagus. Definitely enough to feed at least 3 hungry adults!
The Wine List is Huge!

Pretty much replacing the unicorn,, you can find these skinny legs on everything from hats to dresses to bikinis to clutches. Yes, bird is officially the word for summer!
AND make sure to shop one of our local Housewives In The City featured businesses- The A to Z Boutique for some cute handmade Flamingo Finds like the earrings above.
We were back in Cape Coral for the June Girl's Night Out for a unique themed social: Cocktails, Conversation and Curls. A big thanks to Extend & Mend for being a great location to sip, shop and socialize with local SWFL Ladies and Businesses.

Heading out on a trip to the botanical gardens can be a fun and exciting way for a family to spend a day, but you need to do some planning to ensure it is a success. Some parents try to wing it, and inevitably spend the day thinking about “I wish” moments that would have made the day easier. The botanical gardens are meant to be enjoyed, so take the time to consider some things ahead of time.
Here are my top two tips to help you get the most out of your trip.
Create Excitement About The Plants
You can create excitement by sharing some of the facts about plants. A good example of this would be their defense systems. For example, some plants have thorns to protect them while others excrete toxic chemicals. It’s a good idea to research the plants you will be seeing so that you have some details to share with your children. Kids are naturally fascinated by things like this.
Find the Children’s Garden First
Most botanical gardens have areas just for kids; locate this area first. These areas allow the children to enjoy a hands on experience so that they can better enjoy the gardens. This experience is also a learning one, so parents are as satisfied as children are by it.
The important thing is to have fun at the botanical gardens with your kids. You may be able to create a lifelong learner when it comes to plant life. You may even be able to show your indoor-loving child that there are wonders to see if he or she is only willing to step outside the front door.
Our favorite gardens in Florida, so you can start crafting your own family garden getaways:
