Happy Mother’s Day to all my mom friends and family BUT a special wish to the absolute BEST MOM & MIMI - Cindy Young - who is and always has been my number one fan and biggest support system. I’m beyond lucky to have a woman in my life as caring as her to show me the greatest example of how to do the most important job in the world. I’m thankful to have a great mom and to get to be a great mom to my little cuties. #Momlife is a great life!
Many moms think of Disney's Hollywood Studies as a “half day park,” if you’re traveling with preschoolers who are too short to ride Rock ‘N Roller Coaster or too scared of storm troopers. But they are wrong! From Andy’s Backyard in the new Toy Story Land to snow falling in Arendelle, your entire family will wonder how you’d ever skipped out on a wonderful day at Hollywood Studios.

Unsure what the monthly events are all about?? These networking events (we call Girls Night Out) are different from all others. They are FREE to attend! Nothing like the chamber, handshake and give a 90 second run down of what you do type event. These are planned to feel comfortable, like friends hanging out for happy hour while actually building relationships, learning about new businesses or products and creating connections among like-minded women who want to support each other's success. Check out pics from a previous event to get an idea of the vibe! On average 100-125 local ladies attend each event and stay for 2-3 hour, shopping and socializing. And I try to have each event have a different theme with a different vibe, so no two events ever feel the same!
The Upper Florida Keys (from Key Largo to Matecumbe Key) is the perfect spot to escape for a few days of peace and fun while still getting to enjoy the cool breeze weather before the heat of summer hits us! Key Largo is just 18 miles South of Miami, so an easy drive to make from Southwest Florida!
In addition to enjoying fresh seafood and relaxing at a cozy waterfront motel, here are five things to do on a trip to the upper keys:
- Explore some remote islands and mangroves on a paddle board. Take advantage of the calm waters while catching an up close view of Florida wildlife. There are so many places in the Upper Keys to easily drop your board and paddle out all day. And if you don’t own a board you can easily rent them.
- Feeding the tarpon at Robbie’s of Islamorada is a must. You can purchase a bucket of bait then head out to the dock to hand feed these massive fish!
- Learn some cool things about the advances in diving at the History of Diving Museum. From the wall of helmets from around the world to the massive deep diving suits, you will gain some new knowledge into the undersea world.
- Take a peaceful stroll through the Laura Quinn Wild Bird Sanctuary in Tavernier. This 7-acre refuge provides a home to a variety of injured birds. You have a chance to see hawks, owls, gulls, herons, spoonbills and more. It is open from sunrise to sunset and free to the public but donations help to continue their mission of rescuing and rehabilitating wild birds.
- Go hiking, snorkeling, kayaking or even camping at the John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park in Key Largo. This state park is known for its fantastic aquatic life in over 70 nautical square miles of the Atlantic Ocean. This is the location of the only living coral reef system in the continental United States.
We all know about Key West, but don’t overlook the Upper Keys when trying to plan your next Florida road trip!
