You know those kinds of recipes you’re always looking for? Easy, delicious, and one the whole family enjoys? I’ve got a great one for you!
Three years ago, my family and I took a wonderful Spring Break vacation to the Outer Banks with our “framily” (friends who are like family!). We had 5 families in a house together for a week, and we had a blast! One of the smartest things we did, probably because all of the women are or were teachers, was to plan for each family to be responsible for dinner one night during the trip. One bite of my friend April's pot roast and I knew I needed to have the recipe! It's so easy to make and keeps all my boys happy so it's a winner in my house!
I’m sharing the original recipe that she gave me, but if you look in my photo, the packages of seasoning that I buy from Aldi have slightly different amounts than what she recommends. You can determine what you need to buy based on the brand you have available.
Mouthwatering Pot Roast
2-3 lb roast
2 (1.3 oz) package brown gravy mix
1 (1 oz) package ranch dressing mix
1 (0.2 oz) package Italian dressing mix
2-3 cups water
Put roast in the slow cooker. Mix all the seasonings together and sprinkle over the roast. Add 2-3 cups of water. Cook on low 8-10 hours or high 4-5 hours.
My favorite way to serve it is over egg noodles, but we’ve had it with potatoes or even on sandwiches. A fresh green salad is a great accompaniment too!
