Like just about every other women in the country, I love Fall. I love the colors, the weather, the food, the holidays, the festivals etc. and since my birthday is the first week of October I am always successful in convincing my husband to take me to a pumpkin patch for a family outing.
This year we were invited out to Jahn’s Pumpkin Hill in Cyril, Oklahoma which is about an hour and 20 minutes North of Wichita Falls so we decided to turn it into a day trip! Jahn’s Pumpkin Hill is a family owned farm that is on its fourth generation of farmers since 1942.
When you arrive at the Jahn's family farm you are met with a beautifully decorated yard full of pumpkins and fall colored mums, this is a great area to get some amazing fall photos of the kids. I may have taken about 30 since it is really hard to convince a 2 year old to look at the camera while your 5 year old just wants to go check out the tractor!
Once you purchase your ticket, you’ll hop onto the trailer of their tractor and experience an agricultural tour of their farm. This was very different from other farms that I have visited, we got to hear about their neighbors, the crops they grow, and the animals they raise. It was beautiful seeing the land and watching the monarch butterflies that were migrating through.
As soon as the tour was over we unloaded and got to go to their pumpkin hill where they had their farm animals, a concession stand with the most important food group-at least to our boys: snacks, a hay bale maze, a zip line, and tons of different sized and different shaped pumpkins. There were also ride on toys, picnic areas, pony rides and photo stand-ins for even more photo ops!
We had a great time visiting Jahn’s Pumpkin Hill, you could tell since neither of the boys wanted to leave and by how both boys napped the whole way home! Check out their website and be sure to head up to their farm this October!
